Meet Bititi
A name coined from the Swahili phrase "Bititi" which means strong women, is a ground-breaking solution aimed to confront and resolve the unique challenges faced by women athletes in the sports industry.
OUR AIM & PURPOSE

Bititi Strong Women is a pan-African initiative committed to empowering girls and women in sport, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Through roadshows, mentorship, training, and advocacy, we aim to retain girls in sport, nurture leadership, and build sustainable pathways for inclusion and equity in the sports industry.

With support from Pitch Direct, Bititi Strong Women is actively raising funds to execute its pilot program and scale across Southern, East, and West Africa. This proposal outlines a three-phase funding approach, impact goals, and a detailed operational budget for our pilot roadshow in Botswana.

Positioned as a global network of industry specialists dedicated to advocating for women in sports, Bititi is a proactive response to the obstacles female athletes face daily. By offering a wide range of support and resources, we address problems that have been long ignored by the mainstream sports industry.
Despite growing visibility for women in sport, many girls—especially in rural African communities—lack access to safe, inclusive, and empowering sport environments. Participation drop-off rates increase sharply after adolescence due to lack of resources, cultural barriers, and limited opportunities for development.

Bititi Strong Women aims to change that by going directly into communities to create impact on the ground, using sport as a tool to build confidence, leadership, and long-term participation. Our vision is to build a strong network of women and girls in sport, through mentorship, local development programs, and celebration of success stories.
